Representatives of the Baku delegation of the Red Cross have not met with captive Karabakh soldier Hakob Injighulyan.

The meeting was not held, head of the Baku delegation Ilaha Guseynova told Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent.

“As you know the ICRC is not identifying the captive. The delegation has received an official notification from Azerbaijani authorities about the captive in the territory of Azerbaijan. But, the meeting has not been held so far,” she said.

As  informed earlier, Armenian soldier Hakob Injighulyan (born in 1991) found himself in the territory under the control of the adversary. According to preliminary information, Injighulyan turned up there on Thursday at around 3am, while carrying out his military service, by crossing the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR)-Azerbaijan border, and as a result of losing his orientation in the area. An investigation is underway to determine the details of the incident, the NKR MOD press service had informed.

“If he wants to return to Armenia, he will be sent back. Everything will depend on his desire,” Secretary Shahin Sayilov of the State Commission for Prisoners of War, Missing Persons, and Hostages Affairs of Azerbaijan said.
