STEPANAKERT. – Karabakh Defense Ministry categorically dismissed Azerbaijani press reports alleging that a Karabakh soldier tripped a mine.

Talking to Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent, spokesperson for the Ministry Senor Hasratyan named the reports “regular misinformation spread by Azerbaijani propaganda machine”. He said the reports are absolutely untrue.

Azerbaijani media said Armenak Hakobyyan allegedly tripped a mine at the line of contact between Karabakh and Azerbaijani armed forces. According to Azerbaijani sources, he is one of the soldiers who crossed the border. Hakob Injighulyan was taken into captivity, while Hakobyan tripped a mine.

Azerbaijani media contradicts itself. “One of two servicemen, who crossed the territory controlled by the Azerbaijani Army, was detained, and another hit a mine while trying to run away,” APA agency writes.

This means that the made-up story about Hakob Injighulyan’s intention to cross the border faded away. This also explains unwillingness to let the Baku delegation of Red Cross meet with the captive.
