Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Nils Muižnieks expressed concern about attacks on Armenian civil activists.

“Concerned about attacks vs Arshamyan, Saghatelyan & other activists in Armenia. Effective investigation & accountability must b ensured,” he tweeted.

Suren Saghatelian and Haykak Arshamian were attacked on the night of September 5 in Yerevan.  Earlier they were participating in protests against Armenian authorities’ recent decision to join the Customs Union.
