DIYARBAKIR. – A Divine Liturgy will be offered Tuesday at Saint Giragos Armenian Church in Diyarbakir, Turkey.

Preparations for the mass are in full swing at the church for already one week, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informs from Diyarbakir.

But this year’s Holy Mass is special because it will be offered in Saint Giragos solely two days after the mass that was celebrated in Surp Khach (Holy Cross) Armenian Church at Akhtamar Island on Turkey’s Lake Van.

The aforesaid means that the pilgrims, who had attended the Divine Liturgy in Surp Khach, also will be able to take part in the Holy Mass to be celebrated in Saint Giragos.

Just as at Akhtamar Island, the Divine Liturgy in the Diyarbakir church will be presided over by Archbishop Aram Ateshyan, Armenian Deputy Patriarch of Constantinople.
