YEREVAN. – Head of the Armenian Communist party said the opening of the Abkhaz railway will have a favorable influence not only on Armenia-Russia relations, but Georgia, too.

Speaking about Georgia’s possible signing of Association Agreement with the EU, Ruben Tovmasyan said it had always been an unpredictable country.

“Many are impressed by Georgia’s economy and outgoing president Mikheil Saakashvili, but if Georgia continues the EU line, it will have serious problems in the context of separation from the region,” he said.

During his recent trip to Estonia, Georgian PM Bidzina Ivanishvili said his country is striving to become the EU member as soon as possible and plans to initial the Association Agreement during the Vilnius summit.
