Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia participated in the consecration ceremony of the Armenian Cathedral of Moscow.

He wished Armenian community of Russia spiritual growth and expressed hope for further strengthening of ties between the Russian and Armenian churches through the development of relations between the two countries.

“I am deeply convinced that the further development of relations between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Armenian Apostolic Church, collaboration, joint projects will promote the spiritual growth of our people and, therefore, the strengthening of ties between the two nations. Those ties are stronger than any political schemes that are stronger than any economic interactions,” Russian Patriarch said.

“Those who claim that the 21st century post-Christian era are mistaken. In this sense, Russia and Armenia give a clear example of that the religious dimension does not disappear from people’s lives, on the contrary, it is only strengthened.”
