The 22nd anniversary of Armenia’s Independence was marked in Buenos Aires on Tuesday.

The reception was attended by Argentinean lawmakers, foreign ministry officials, the representatives of NGOs, local Armenian community and media.

In his address Armenian Ambassador to Argentina Vahagn Melikyan expressed gratitude to the government for adoption of the bill recognizing and condemning the 1915 Armenian Genocide and assistance to the genocide survivors. He underscored the role of the Armenian community in strengthening of friendly ties between the states.
