An earthquake was registered Thursday morning in Turkey’s Van Province. 

The Earthquake Study Institute of Istanbul’s Bogazici University released a statement, according to which a magnitude-4 earthquake was registered, at 5:55am local time, in the vicinity of Van’s Arces city, nearby Akcift village, reports Milliyet daily of Turkey.

The hypocenter of the seismic activity was 5 kilometers beneath the surface.
