YEREVAN. – President Serzh Sargsyan on Friday hosted Catholicos of Armenians Karekin II and Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia.   

They reflected on the Bishops’ Synod of the Armenian Apostolic Church—which is wrapping up Friday at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin—, the decisions reached and the topical issues discussed during the synod, the activities being undertaken in the Armenian diaspora toward the preservation of the Armenian identity, and Armenian state-Church relations.    

Karekin II and Aram I yet again underscored the President’s attendance to the official opening of the Bishops’ Synod, the matters of national importance that were raised during his address delivered at the event, and the Armenian state’s respective positions.
