Presidents Barack Obama and Hassan Rouhani of the United States and Iran discussed on the telephone the agreement on official Tehran’s nuclear program. 

The aforesaid was the first talks between the presidents of the two countries ever since 1979.

As per Obama, he informed his Iranian colleague that serious obstacles may rise in the process of reaching an agreement, and the success of the negotiations is not guaranteed, Interfax news agency reports citing BBC.       

Rouhani’s staff confirmed that the two presidents had talked to one another, and it expressed confidence that this talk will become the basis for resolving the present-day issues between Washington and Tehran, and enabling them to cooperate in the future, Lenta.ru reports citing Reuters news agency.
