YEREVAN. – Closing ceremony of the Father Komitas pan-Armenian festival was held Thursday at Aram Khachaturyan Concert Hall in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan.

The event, which was an initiative of the Ministry of Diaspora, brought together First Lady Rita Sargsyan, Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan, statesmen, public figures, and the admirers of Komitas’ art.

“These days Komitas’ creations were heard even from the lips of a Japanese, a German, and a Turk,” Hranush Hakobyan specifically stated in her remarks.

During the official closing, the choirs and individual performers that took part in the Father Komitas festival—which had kicked off on September 26 and along the lines of which they had performed in Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, and Etchmiadzin cities—performed Komitas’ compositions.

The performers, who had come from nine countries plus the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, amazed the audience with their unique performances.
