Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei backed the dynamism of the diplomatic apparatus and praised the government’s recent diplomatic efforts, IRNA agency reported.

Hailing the diplomatic efforts of President Hassan Rohani, Ayatollah Khamenei said they “are pessimistic about the Americans.”

“The US administration cannot be trusted; it is hegemonic and unfaithful to its promises,” the agency quotes Khamenei.

Commenting on Rohani’s visit to New York, Iranian supreme leader said “what happened during the New York visit was partly inappropriate from our point of view.”

During his recent visit to the U.S., Iranian president took certain moves to improve relations with the West. Besides, he had a phone conversation with Barack Obama, the first conversation between Iranian and American leaders in 34 years.
