YEREVAN. – It was on behalf of the Armenian people that I asked the question about Serzh Sargsyan losing a lot of money in gambling.

Zaruhi Postanjyan—who is Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party National Assembly (NA) Faction Secretary and member of Armenia’s NA delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE)—noted the abovementioned during a press conference on Monday.

“I was obligated to pose that question there [that is, at the PACE session]; there is no ‘inside’ and ‘outside for us. The Council of Europe is the platform where the Armenian people have a right to be present and, as a representative of the people, I have voiced the question which our community is concerned about.

“Perhaps there were other questions [to pose]; [but] first, I had [solely] thirty seconds to ask a question, which I did,” Postanjyan said.

The opposition MP noted that she already met with Heritage Party Chairman, ex-presidential candidate and former FM, Raffi Hovannisian, who gave a very positive assessment to her conduct at PACE.

Zaruhi Postanjyan added that there are no disagreements within the party ranks with respect to this matter.

To note, during the question and answer session at the PACE plenary session in Strasbourg, France, on October 2, Zaruhi Postanjyan had asked Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan the following question:

“You have appeared here [in the PACE session] not by the will of the people, but [rather] as a consequence of organized crime, the theft of the Armenian people’s vote. Therefore you cannot de jure represent the will and right of the Armenian people. [So,] I’ll give you another question. Have you been to a casino in Europe and lost 70 million euros there? And who paid that amount in your stead?”
