Azerbaijan’s public television imposed a complete information blockade on the opposition.

The news programs contain nothing about the opposition candidate Jamil Hasanli. On Thursday the television is airing only the message of incumbent president Ilham Aliyev in which he cynically calls the vote “the triumph of democracy.”

At the same time, not a single program mentions the statements of the opposition leader Jamil Hasanli who accused incumbent president of usurping power and demands new elections.

This is the way that Azerbaijan “implements” commitments to the Council of Europe.
