The European Union (EU) leadership is attempting to prove that it is as positive toward the Armenian citizens’ expectations linked to the visa facilitation as it is to the Eurasian Union being created by Russia.

Polish political scientist Mateusz Piskorski, Director of the European Center of Geopolitical Analysis, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The analyst commented on the European Parliament’s recent approval of the Armenia-EU agreement on visa facilitation and readmission.

“The Armenian authorities’ decision to become a member in the Customs Union does not at all mean the deterioration of relations with the EU; even to the contrary. Therefore it should be expected that Armenia will dynamically develop relations with both the EU and the Eurasian Union,” Piskorski stated.

To note, owing to the aforesaid agreement, Armenian citizens will face less visa issuance “obstacles” when planning to make short-term visits to EU countries.

Following the talks that were held on September 3 in Moscow between Armenian and Russian Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin, Sargsyan had announced that Armenia plans to join the Customs Union and subsequently engage in the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union.
