YEREVAN. – Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan visited the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Armenia, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the academy.  

Sargsyan toured the exhibition of the accomplishments and scientific innovations of the NAS institutes.   

The PM also underscored youth involvement in scientific research institutes, informs the Government press service.

“Today we saw what substantive results Armenian science offers. We have some pretty interesting work,” Sargsyan said, in particular.     

The Premier told news reporters that it is first necessary to establish a chain of scientific funding and production, so that the private sector likewise can be engaged in the funding of science.

“We saw proposals that can be useful for agriculture, construction, and in other domains,” he noted.   

In addition, Tigran Sargsyan awarded the Medal of the Prime Minister and the Letter of Appreciation of the Prime Minister to several Academy representatives.
