STEPANAKERT. – The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) may export electricity.

The NKR Public Services and Competition Regulatory Commission on Tuesday confirmed the procedure to export electricity out of the country.

According to the respective decision, however, electricity export will be permitted solely if the domestic electricity demand is fully met.

The said procedure was accepted considering the annual growth in electricity production, the commission news service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

To note, in the first half of 2013, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic produced 93.2 million kilowatt/hour electricity, which exceeds last year’s indicator by 43.4 percent.
