YEREVAN. – Council of Europe (CoE) Committee of Ministers Chairman and Armenia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Edward Nalbandian on Monday met with CoE Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland.

Nalbandian thanked the CoE Secretariat—and personally to the CoE chief—for the comprehensive assistance to the activities of Armenia’s current chairmanship at the CoE Committee of Ministers, informs the Armenian MFA press service.

He noted that more than a dozen major events were held during the country’s chairmanship, and added that Armenia will continue contributing to the implementation of the CoE objectives.

On his part, Jagland gave a high assessment to the past and present-day activities of Armenia’s chairmanship at the CoE Committee of Ministers.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the future activities of the CoE, the ongoing reforms within the Council of Europe, and several other agenda issues.
