YEREVAN. – An attempt was made, on September 20, to import 50.85 kilograms of Sukrazit-brand powdered sugar from Israel to Armenia via the latter’s Bagratashen border checkpoint.

On October 11, a sample was taken from the powdered sugar to conduct laboratory examination, informs the Armenian Agriculture Ministry State Service on Food Safety.

As a result of repeated laboratory testing, it was found out that the cadmium level in this powdered sugar does not meet the allowable quantity.

The import of the product is banned.
