The Daily Mail recalled about St Jude’s ties with Armenia as a major storm is hitting southern Britain.

The storm was named after St Jude who is also known as Thaddeus.

“He was one of 12 apostles chosen to spread the gospel and he is believed to have brought Christianity to Armenia,” The Daily Mail writes.

Around five years later he was hacked to death in Armenia, and his body was taken to  St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.

The Armenian Apostolic Church honors Thaddeus along with Saint Bartholomew as its patron saints.

“St Jude” storm is expected to become the greatest storm in Britain and Northern Europe over recent 20 years. Hundreds of flights and rail service were canceled.

According to BBC, around 220,000 homes are without power. People are recommended not to leave the houses.
