YEREVAN. – A married couple from the United States hunted endangered mouflon in Armenia.

The police prepared a report based on a video—titled “Foreigners go hunting in Armenia and kill Armenian Mouflon registered in the Red Book [of endangered and protected species]”—that was posted on an electronic news media, informs the Police Department of Media.

According to the report, a completely banned animal hunting—i.e., the illegal hunting of a Bezoar Goat—was conducted in Vayots Dzor Region, at a period between December 9 and 18, 2009, and with an illegally acquired firearm. The hunting was carried out by US citizens, married couple B. K. and Sh. B., who had arrived in Armenia.

A criminal case is initiated into the incident.
