YEREVAN. – The Armenian Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources is investigating the causes for the disengagement between the energy systems of Armenia and Iran

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Armen Movsisyan noted the abovementioned at the National Assembly on Monday.

The minister recalled that, on November 2 at 10:24am, the energy system of Armenia had disengaged from the energy system of Iran.

To note, due this technical reason, there were widespread power outages throughout Armenia.

But as per the minister, following the disengagement, the energy defense mechanism, which had switched off the electricity, immediately went into operation.

“The parameters were already regulated two minutes after the switching off. We started to gradually increase the power. The [entire] process took 3.5 hours,” he noted.

Armen Movsisyan also informed that a special group is set up to investigate the causes of this incident and determine the possible future steps.
