YEREVAN. – The epidemiological situation in Armenia, with respect to flue and acute respiratory infections, can be considered calm.   

Health Ministry Sanitary-Epidemiological Department Chief Specialist Liana Torosyan, who is also World Health Organization National Coordinator for Influenza, told the aforesaid to news reporters. 

As per the specialist, the current respective situation in Armenia does not give cause for concern, as compared to this season last year. At present, no complicated or acute case is recorded in the country’s hospitals.   

The Ministry of Health calls upon the residents to be precautious and not to panic. In case of the first symptoms, it is indispensable to apply to a specialized healthcare organization and receive appropriate medical assistance,” Torosyan added.  

And as to what to do in order not to be infected, or not to aggravate the already-caught flu, “First, [it is necessary] to stay home, [and] stay in bed for three days,” the specialist noted.  

Liana Torosyan also recalled that people with flu and acute respiratory illnesses should avoid general contact.
