YEREVAN. – The “Anonymous Rally” initiated in Yerevan downtown on Tuesday resulted in clashes with Armenian police, Armenian News-NEWS.am reports. The photo coverage of the story is available here.

The rally was organized by the head of the United National Initiative Shant Haroutsunyan, who has been holding the protest action in the Liberty Square in Yerevan downtown. The participants of the rally with their faces hidden behind the masks of Guy Fawkes, attempted to cross the street on Yerevan city major prospect of Mashtots, while police closed the road in front of the rally. As a result participants involved in clashes with police, over a dozen people were arrested, including Shant Haroutsunyan and his son Shahen.

At the moment police closed the territory and does not let the participants to continue the rally to the Armenia’s President’s residence. According to the rally participants, police organized a provocation, and the firing bottles were thrown by police agents.

Earlier Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that the head of the United National Initiative Shant Haroutsunyan has been holding the protest action in the Liberty Square in Yerevan downtown and declared a revolution on Tuesday.
