An airplane, which was conducting a flight between Armenia’s capital city Yerevan and Saint Petersburg, Russia, had to make an emergency landing in Rostov-on-Don, Russia.

The plane made the emergency landing due to the death of a passenger, Interfax news agency reports, citing Rostov-on-Don Investigation Department investigator Artem Marchenko.

“The passenger was suffering from a serious illness and he was flying to Saint Petersburg for treatment. When the man had felt ill, the cabin crew tried to help him, but it did not help. They had to make an emergency landing in Rostov-on-Don and hand the man over to an ambulance staff,” the investigator said.

In Marchenko’s words, the doctors, however, could not save the 44-year-old man’s life, and they recorded that he had died before the emergency landing.
