Iran appointed non-resident charge d’affaires to United Kingdom in a move to restore diplomatic relations disrupted after the attack on UK Embassy in Tehran back in 2011.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said on Monday that the Islamic Republic of Iran assigned Mohammad Hassan Habibollahzadeh as non-resident charge d’affaires to United Kingdom, IRNA agency reported.

Ajay Sharma, the current head of Iran’s Department at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office has been appointed as UK’s non-resident Charge d’Affaires to Iran, British Foreign Office announced on Monday.
