There were no Armenian citizens and Armenians on board the airplane that crashed in Kazan, Russia.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of the Russian Federation informed the aforesaid to the Armenian MES.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, a Tatarstan Airlines airplane heading from Moscow to Kazan crashed Sunday while landing at Kazan Airport at 3:25pm GMT. Fifty people, including six crew members on board, were killed.

Iker Minnikhanov, the son of President Rustam Minnikhanov of Tatarstan, was confirmed to be on board of the Boeing 737 that crashed in central Russia, Gazeta.ru reported.

According to the Russian media, head of the Tatarstan office of the Federal Security Service Alexander Antonov and the wife of famous sport journalist Roman Skvortsov were on board, too.
