Tuesday’s meeting, which was held in Austrian capital city Vienna, between Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev, went in normal fashion. 

Coming out of the talks, Sargsyan told RFE/RL Armenian service that the talks were “normal.”  

The meeting of the two presidents was held at Palais Coburg. 

Following their private meeting, the two leaders were joined by Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group Co-Chairs Jacques Faure (France), James Warlick (US), and Igor Popov (Russia), Armenian President’s press secretary Arman Saghatelyan tweeted.

In Saghatelyan’s words, the co-chairs’ respective statement will be issued shortly. 

To note, this was the first meeting between the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan over the past two years.

Prior to this talk, the leaders of the two countries had a telephonic conversation with US Secretary of State John Kerry. The latter had reconfirmed his country’s full assistance to the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
