YEREVAN. – Armenia is an active CSTO member but at the same time is developing partner relations with NATO, representative of foreign ministry said.

Gagik Hovhannisyan, head of NATO department at the Armenian Foreign Ministry, said every country is to choose what security system it will be integrated in.

“Armenia is not pursuing a goal to become a NATO member, but is eager to cooperate with the organization. Armenia and NATO set a range of issues to cooperate,” Hovhannisyan said during Armenia-NATO conference.

NATO is a bloc of 28 states where decisions are made by consensus, he said, recalling that every member state has its own interests and tasks.
