STEPANAKERT. – Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) President Bako Sahakyan on Wednesday attended a reception held on behalf of Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America.

In his remarks, the President expressed gratitude to the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America for its patriotic activities, informs the Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President.

He added that the Church is an integral part of the Armenian national identity and a foundation of the Armenian statehood, and it has played an inestimable role in Armenian history.

President Sahakyan stressed that discussing matters of national importance together with the Armenian Church places a special duty to carry out the planned activities on an appropriate level.
