YEREVAN. – Armenian lawmakers will submit an application to the secretariat of the National Assembly, according to which the statement on mandatory pension system will be submitted to the parliament and will be discussed.

The application submitted before the parliament session was presented by secretary of Prosperous Armenia faction Naira Zohrabyan, MP from the same party Tigran Urikhanyan and ARF MP Artsvik Minasyan and was signed by 49 lawmakers.

Naira Zohrabyan said there are no loopholes in the law to allow the parliamentary majority to refuse to participate in the debate.

Asked whether their actions are agreed with those protesting against mandatory accumulative pension system, the MP noted that everyone is doing their job: “We periodically meet with the members of the initiative group, hold actions against introduction of accumulative pension system, listen to their suggestions. They protect their rights and interests, and we are trying to do it in the parliament.”
