YEREVAN. – Judging by the press, Armenia handed over to Russia the remaining 20 percent of its shares in the ArmRusGazprom [natural gas supply] company.

Opposition Freedom Party Chairman, ex-presidential candidate, former PM, MP and economist Hrant Bagratyan wrote the aforementioned in his Facebook page.

“ArmRusGazprom is not negotiated at the stock exchange. Its price is not known. Excuse me, gentlemen of the Armenian authorities, [but] are you hooligans? Be kind enough to provide an official statement. After all, an enormous public property is sold.

“ As per Mr. [Alexey] Miller [who is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Russian energy Gazprom Company], after this deal Armenia will receive the [natural] gas from the RF [i.e., the Russian Federation] with the domestic prices of Russia.

“Now, what is that domestic price? Is it that price with which ArmRusGazprom will receive gas from Gazprom? Sorry, [but] this does not change anything. ArmRusGazprom does not receive it [at an] expensive [price] now, as well. But it sets the final price even more expensive than the European [prices].

“And then, if we are going to receive [the gas] with the domestic price, why is it not cheaper than that of Russia? The VAT is deducted when exported,” Hrant Bagratyan specifically wrote.
