YEREVAN. – Relations with Yerevan are among the priorities of the foreign policy of Moscow City Government.

Moscow Government Minister Sergei Cheryomin, who heads the Moscow City Government Department for Foreign Economic Activity and International Relations, noted the aforesaid at his talk with Mayor Taron Margaryan of Armenian capital city Yerevan.

For his part, Margaryan stressed that, owing to the new interaction agreement between Yerevan and Moscow, a new impetus will be given to mutual cooperation.    

“We signed with the mayor of Moscow the 2014-2016 Cooperation Program between Moscow Government and Yerevan Municipality. I am confident that we will have tangible results. Moscow is truly a reliable partner for Yerevan,” Margaryan stressed.

In turn, Cheryomin stated that the cooperation between the Armenian and the Russian capital cities has a potential for further development. 

“I, too, am confident that, with the 2014-2016 Cooperation Program, a new impetus will be given to the partnership relations of the two capital cities,” he said. 

Separately, Taron Margaryan awarded Sergei Cheryomin with the Gold Medal of the Mayor of Yerevan, in recognition of his contribution to the strengthening of friendly relations between Yerevan and Moscow.
