YEREVAN. – Cooperation between Armenia and Iran in gas sector depends on Armenian authorities’ willingness, Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Reisi said. 

“We are glad to see that relations between Armenia and Russia are deepening, as both are friendly countries of Iran,” Reisi told reporters on Tuesday.

Iran has been cooperating with Armenia on energy for a long time, and the sides have reached certain arrangements.

“It is known that we are importing electricity in exchange for gas,” he emphasized, adding that it does not contradict energy ties with Russia.  

“I can say with confidence that the Armenian authorities attach importance to national and strategic interests,” Ambassador resumed.
