YEREVAN. – Anyone would hardly call “a bad thing” reduction of Russian gas price for Armenia, Vice Speaker of the National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov said.

Spokesman for the ruling party labeled Putin’s visit as a trip of “strategic ally” with “unprecedented positive results”. Sharmazanov said the visit opened a new chapter for Armenia, adding that some political forces are deliberately creating negative sentiments around the visit

“Let’s mention facts. Two important documents for Armenia were signed. Military-political cooperation between Armenia and Russia was strengthened which in itself is an important safeguard of our peace and security. Is it good or bad?

Russia reduces tariff for gas supplies to Armenia: instead of the previous $270 to $189 per thousand cubic meters. Is it good or bad?

Customs duties on a number of products have been removed that will contribute to the intensification of the economy. Well, is it good or bad?

Finally, as a member of the CSTO, Armenia will buy Russian weapons at domestic prices. So is it good or bad?

Hence, we can conclude only one thing: our citizens will certainly feel the results of new agreements between Armenia and Russia. And we do not care about the fact that several opposition leaders may not like it,” Sharmazanov told reporters.
