YEREVAN. – The chance for the Iranian natural gas transfer via Armenia is not lost forever.
Iranian Ambassador to Armenia, Mohammad Reisi, said the above-mentioned at a press conference on Friday, and in response to a query by the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter.
“The matter is not closed completely, and Armenia’s infrastructure capabilities may enable transfer in several years. We may carry this out at that time, and this will be a great boon to the Armenian economy,” the Iranian diplomat stated.
To note, the first Iran-Armenia natural gas pipeline (Meghri-Kajaran) was officially launched in March 2007. But the diameter of this pipeline is too small to conduct transfer.
