Armenian National Security Council (NSC) Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan, who is in Moscow on a working visit, met with Director Viktor Ivanov of the Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation (FSKN RF).

The interlocutors discussed the avenues for combining efforts and carrying out effective cooperation in the fight against illegal drug trafficking.   

In addition, the NSC and the FSKN signed a protocol outlining the respective measures to be taken.  

Also, an agreement was reached with Yury Maltsev, Director of the RF Federal Agency for the Development of the State Border Facilities (Rosgranitsa), on opening a Rosgranitsa representation in Armenia and modernizing the Armenian state border.      

Accordingly, the relevant officials will be appointed and Rosgranitsa will commence its activities in Armenia in March 2014.

Separately, Arthur Baghdasaryan participated in the meeting of the secretaries of the security councils of the CIS member states. He delivered a report at the event and presented the official positions of Armenia.
