YEREVAN. – The United States attaches great importance to the development of comprehensive cooperation with Armenia. 

Eric Rubin, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the US Department of State, noted the aforesaid Tuesday at his meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

US Ambassador to Armenia, John Heffern, as well as US Ambassadors to Georgia and Azerbaijan, Richard Norland and Richard Morningstar, respectively, also attended the talk. To note, Norland and Morningstar have arrived in Armenian capital city Yerevan to participate in the consultation of the US ambassadors to South Caucasus countries.  

Nalbandian noted that the Armenian-American partnership has entered a qualitatively new phase and there are necessary conditions for their further expansion, informs the Armenian MFA press service.

The interlocutors reflected on the steps being taken to strengthen Armenian-American partnership, summed up the results of the recent meeting of the Armenian-American Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, and underscored the implementation of the agreement on visa facilitation between Armenia and the United States.       

The parties also discussed the latest developments concerning the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, and looked into regional and international matters.
