Air traffic controller Valentin Zmievsky, who had prevented the collision of two aircrafts in Moscow skies, received an award.

“They gave me a certificate and a cash award,” Zmievsky told LifeNews.

On November 6, a Boeing, which had departed from Armenian capital city Yerevan, had gone off course, for inexplicable reasons, and appeared in the same course as another Boeing. Both aircrafts were traveling on the same altitude. The planes were so close to one another that the distance between them was a mere 2.5 kilometers.
