YEREVAN. – An Armenian delegation, led by Mayor Taron Margaryan of capital city Yerevan, is in Georgian capital city Tbilisi on an official visit.

On Sunday, the delegation visited the Holy Etchmiadzin Armenian Church of Tbilisi where Margaryan, together with Mayor Giorgi Ugulava of Tbilisi, attended the Sunday mass, informs the Yerevan Municipality Information and Public Relations Department. 

Following the mass, Bishop Vasken Mirzakhanian, Primate of the Diocese of Georgia of the Armenian Apostolic Church, expressed his deepest gratitude to the two mayors for their respect toward the Church and the Armenian community. 

In turn, Mayor Margaryan noted that the preservation of national culture and traditions is not easy for the Armenians that live away from their homeland and, from this point of view, he highlighted the role of the Armenian Church. He also thanked his Tbilisi counterpart for the latter’s good disposition toward the Armenian community of the Georgian capital city. 

Subsequently, the mayor of Yerevan interacted with the Tbilisi Armenians that attended the Sunday mass.
