YEREVAN.  – Armenian capital city Yerevan will host the eighth concert of 1900+ World Piano Music Series on December 18 which will be dedicated to the Baltic States’ 20th Century and Contemporary Piano Music.

The concert is organized by the support of the Embassies and Honorary Consulates of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia as well as the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia.

The concert soloist is international known Armenian pianist Hayk Melikyan, an honorary artist of the Republic of Armenia who will be presenting to the Armenian audience the works of outstanding composers from Baltic states: Pēteris Vasks, Urmas Sisask, Mikalojus Čiurlionis, Vytautas Barkauskas, Arvo Pärt, Georgs Pelēcis and Balys Dvarionas. Most of the works will be premieres in Yerevan.

The concert will be dedicated to the closure of the cultural program of the ongoing Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

1900+ aims to present the 20th Century and Contemporary piano music (composed after the year of 1900) of different nations to the Armenian audience. It was launched in 2009 and Russian, French, Japanese, Polish, Swiss, American, German concerts have been organized since then. 

The Concert will take place on December 18, 19:00 at the Chamber Music Hall after Komitas in Yerevan.
