YEREVAN. – Within the framework of its official visit to the Georgian capital city Tbilisi, the Armenian delegation, led by Mayor Taron Margaryan of capital city Yerevan, attended the official opening of Yerevan Park in Tbilisi.  

Margaryan and Mayor Giorgi Ugulava of Tbilisi unveiled the memorial plaque of the park, informs the Yerevan Municipality Information and Public Relations Department. 

Yerevan Park was planned and constructed by Tbilisi City Hall.

In his welcoming remarks Tbilisi Mayor Giorgi Ugulava noted that this park will add yet another cornerstone to the friendship between the Armenian and the Georgian peoples.    

“Our good friendship with the mayor of Yerevan is also very important for me; this, in turn, is an important stimulus for Tbilisi and Yerevan to closely cooperate,” Ugulava noted, in particular.   

In his remarks, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed that the mayor of Tbilisi has a great personal contribution to the strengthening of ties between the two capital cities.   

“Today, yet another significant chapter is added to the book of the history of the friendship of the Armenian and the Georgian peoples. I am convinced that the projects of our partnership cooperation will gain new momentum,” Margaryan underscored.  

Following the official ceremony, Taron Margaryan interacted with representatives of the Tbilisi-Armenian community. Margaryan informed hem that the municipalities of Yerevan and Tbilisi will sign an agreement, which will assume closer cooperation between the two cities. He also asked the local Armenian community to be actively engaged in the future projects.
