YEREVAN. – In 2014 Armenian importers want to purchase from Russia 300 thousand tons of duty-free petroleum products, Energy Minister said.

Armen Movsisyan told reporters that the figure is not yet final.

The point is 300 thousand tons is almost the entire volume of all petroleum consumption in Armenia for a year (gasoline, oil, tar, diesel, kerosene), whereas now the share of Russia in the Armenian imports is about 30% (January - September 2013).

Earlier on Tuesday Armenian parliament held hearings on Armenia-Russia cooperation agreement on gas, petroleum products and diamonds. Every year Armenia must present indicative balance on annual use of gas and oil products.

“The quota will be based on an annual application of the Armenian side. To present an order, we, in turn, accept applications from Armenian importers of petroleum products. Application for 2014 should be prepared before the end of 2013,” the Minister said.
