YEREVAN. – Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on Wednesday received Evelyn Farkas, the United States Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia/Ukraine/Eurasia.  

Nalbandian noted that the Armenian-American partnership is developing in a dynamic fashion and there are prerequisites for their expansion, informs the Armenian MFA press service. 

In turn, Farkas said the US attaches great importance to the development of cooperation with Armenia in the defensive sector and that her current visit to Armenia is aimed at strengthening this cooperation.

In the ensuing talk, the interlocutors reflected on Armenia’s participation in international peacekeeping activities and on Armenia-NATO relations.   

In addition, the Armenian FM spoke about arms control in the region. He stressed that Armenia is actively engaged in the international initiatives toward the non-proliferation of weapons and the combat against terrorism.    

At the request of the guest, Edward Nalbandian presented the latest developments in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process and Armenia’s outlook on regional matters.
