YEREVAN. – Around $92 million (37.34 billion AMD) will be invested in Armenia’s gas sector in 2014-16, says the 3-year ArmRusgasprom investment program.

The program was approved during the meeting of Public Services Regulatory Commission on Wednesday.

At the same time AMD 25.4 billion will be invested in the gas transmission system and 11.94 billion in gas distribution.

The main areas of investment will be modernization of the gas transmission network in Armenia and expansion of Abovyan underground gas storage.

ArmRusgasprom, a subsidiary of Russia’s Gazprom, and is the operator of gas distribution network of Armenia and one of the largest taxpayers.
