The meeting with the civil society representatives of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) was a first for the current composition of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group co-chairs.  

Masis Mayilian, Chairman of the NKR Public Council on Foreign Policy and Security Matters, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am, and added that this meeting can be considered unprecedented.

OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs James Warlick (USA) and Jacques Faure (France) met with NKR’s civil society representatives, on Wednesday in NKR capital city Stepanakert.   

The co-chairs informed about the negotiation process of the Karabakh conflict while the NKR NGO officials presented their activities within the framework of civil peacekeeping.  

The interlocutors discussed several matters concerning the Karabakh peace process. The NGO representatives stressed the need for a change in the methodology and philosophy of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement.
