YEREVAN. - The Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates the feast of Theophany and the Nativity of Jesus Christ on January 6, in the memory of the events of Birth and Baptism of Christ.

The Armenian Apostolic Church starts the celebration in the evening of January 5 and it continues after midnight. All Armenian churches serve holy liturgy and light candles.

The servant of the liturgy pours holy oil in water and blesses it with a prayer. According to the tradition, believers take a small portion of the water to their homes as a remedy for the ill as the water, consecrated that day, is considered to be graceful and have special qualities.
