YEREVAN. – Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC has introduced a pilot program on calculating the electricity consumption. 

But Company Director General Yevgeny Bibin told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the respective calculation instrument is not yet available for a large cross-section of the population.

“Nonetheless, the instrument is interesting. Being given the parameters of the electricity consumption, the system calculates the speed of the light being consumed, and the one-day, or the monthly cost,” Bibin explained.    

According to him, however, since the natural gas and electricity prices increased in Armenia in July, it is difficult to decide as to whether the consumers’ energy use preferences will change during the current heating period.          

“Electricity is portable; any room or space can be heated as you desire,” Yevgeny Bibin concluded.
