Resumption of Armenia-Azerbaijan high level dialogue is mentioned in a report of the Russian Foreign Ministry as one of the main foreign policy events of 2013.

The report notes that Russia exerted efforts into finding political and diplomatic solutions to conflicts in the CIS area.

Steps taken by the Russian side in the process of settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict were carried out in close cooperation with other co-chairing states of the OSCE Minsk Group (France and US). Thanks to the joint efforts, an agreement on resumption of Armenian-Azerbaijani contacts at the highest level was reached.
