Georgia to send troops to Mali

TBILISI. – Georgia will reach a positive decision on participation in the operation in Mali, stated Irakli Alasania, the Minister of Defence of Georgia.

“We already are taking practical steps in that direction. We will monitor the European Union requirement on the operation in Mali. In all probability, we will participate in the operation,” Alasania stressed.      

In the minister’s words, now, Georgia will accept not solely NATO, but European operations, as well. As a result, according to Irakli Alasania, the Georgian military servicemen will acquire a great combat experience, reports Gruzia Online news agency of Georgia.
